Local attractions include Jasan Park, with views of Yeosu and the statue of Yi Sun Shin, Odongdo Island, Dolsan Bridge and Chungminsa Shrine.
Hyangiram Hermitage has views of the sea and the scattered islands that make up Yeosu Peninsula. It is located up the sides of a cliff and the entire complex is connected by a series of very thin trails winding their way through tight caves and under foliage.
A full size replica of one of Admiral Yi's famed turtle ships can be found just south of Dolsan bridge.
Jinnamgwan, Korea's largest single-storey wooden pavilion has a small museum attached.
The Maritime Fisheries and Science Museum is located on Dolsan island. Facilities include aquariums, exhibition halls, a maritime science exhibition hall, a marine life cultivating facility and 3-D theatre.
Marae Tunnel is the only natural rock tunnel in Korea and is located along the coast between Manseongri and Yeosu railway station.
Paraocean Waterpark is located in the Ocean Resort and has dozens of indoor and outdoor pools and slides as well as a spa, restaurants and shops.
Manseongni black sand beach is the liveliest beach in Yeosu.
Downtown Yeosu has hundreds of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs. Yeosu Specialty Seafood Market is lined with small shops and restaurants serving seafood dishes using fresh fish caught from the southern coast.
Raw and cooked seafood and fish are the main attractions in local restaurants. At various times of the year, hoe, pike eels, oysters, octopus and many types of roasted fish are available. Local dishes include 'noraemi stew' and 'seodaehoe'. There are very few 'Western' style restaurants here.
