Introduction
Island cruises started life in 2002 as a joint venture between the UK's First Choice holidays and Royal Caribbean using a converted car ferry - the Island Escape.
It is now wholly owned by the TUI group (Thomson in the UK) which continue to operate the Island Escape.
Don't expect luxury here, the Island Escape is marketed at working class Brits and has a "working mens club at sea" atmosphere.
From 13th March 2013 all Island cruises will be all-inclusive. The all-inclusive package will include draught beer, spirits, cocktails, house wine and selected soft drinks. Premium brands and specialised coffees will be extra.
Passengers may not bring any alcohol onboard. Should alcohol be brought to the ship it will be stored until the end of the cruise.
