Introduction
US based Windstar cruises was founded in 1984.
Its small fleet of intimate ships with mechanical sails provide a relaxing and casual cruising atmosphere. As with many of the smaller ships, entertainment is largely self-made or based around music in the main lounge.
The ships all have a watersports platform at the rear of the ship which is lowered when the ship is at anchor (not at sea or docked).
The smaller nature of the ships also allows for visits to lesser ports and harbours making for exciting and different itineraries.
