Overview Of The Port Of Trogir

About Trogir
Trogir is a town and harbour on the Adriatic coast in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia, which is at the crossroads of Central Europe, Southeast Europe, and the Mediterranean. The historic city of Trogir is situated on a small island between the Croatian mainland and the island of Čiovo. Since 1997, the historic centre of Trogir has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Trogir is around 25km from Split, and if you wish to visit, the no. 37 bus is the regular Trogir-Split service.

The old part of Trogir is walkable in around about 20 minutes. For transport needs, Trogir Rental Service hires scooters, boats, bikes and cars.

Trogir is encased in 15th century walls with small, medieval streets which wind through the town. The central square of Trogir is surrounded by homes and palaces. There are also a number of shops and restaurants.

The seaside promenade snakes around the town and from the port area, visitors can take a boat trip to one of the islands to discover pristine sand beaches and secluded coves.

Trogir is a lovely blend of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture, with a spectacular Venetian Cathedral of St. Lovro, a 15th century town hall and the Church of St. John the Baptist.

Kamerlengo Fortress is a 14th century fortress, built to control access to the harbour and the bay of Kastela. Enjoy a view over the town if you walk on top of the walls to the top of the big tower.

Okrug Gornji on Čiovo island is around 3km away and connected by the bridge. It has a 1km long beach with lots of bars right next to sea.

Several shopping centres are located very near to the centre, across the old Town Bridge, on the Main Market. Popular souvenirs include handmade crafts and artwork, local food and drink, clothing, jewellery and embroidery.

The nearest beach is Pantan Beach, 2km to the east with beach bar and sports facilities.

Fresh fish and seafood - mussels, shrimp (scampi), roast fish and fish stew with rice, as well as sour marinated beef (pasticada) with noodles (njoki) are all popular, local dishes. Try one of the traditional desserts from the area such as 'krostule', 'rozata' (egg cake), 'rafioli cake' (crescent shaped almond pastry) or one of the rich Dalmatian tortes.
Cruise Terminal
Cruise ships can either dock in Marina Bay to the west of Trogir or anchor in the harbour and tender passengers ashore.

It is a short walk to local attractions from the harbour.
