Overview Of The Port Of Scarborough
About Scarborough
Tobago, Trinidad's sister island, is located in the southern Caribbean and is only 26 miles long.
Scarborough is the largest town on the island and is dominated by the 18th Century fortification, Fort King George.
Snorkelling and glass bottom boat excursions from the beach at Pigeon Point are an option, as well as a scenic island tour.
For the more adventurous, trips into Tobago's rainforest reserve and Argyle Falls are popular with visitors.
Cuisine is similar to that on Trinidad, the national dish being Callaloo, a creamy, spicy dish made from dasheen leaves. Indian, Creole and Chinese as well as shark, fried bake and curries are widely available.

Taxis are available.
Occasionally, some ships may anchor off the western tip of the island and tender passengers to Pigeon Point, about 8 miles from Scarborough. This area is home to some lovely beaches and large resorts.
