About Playa Del Coco
Playa Del Coco (Coco Beach) is a small fishing village located in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica in South America. It is approximately 20 miles from Guanacaste's capital, Liberia.
Marino Las Baulas National Park offers pristine beaches and lush forests, home to a wide variety of wildlife. Leatherback turtles nest here every year, giving visitors the chance to see them thrive in their natural habitat.
Manuel Antonio Beach sits high above Manuel Antonio National Park, and offers both seclusion and the opportunity to see four species of monkeys, who populate the beaches here.
Various tours are available such as boat trips, zip lining through the rainforest canopy, nature and horse riding. Outside of the towns, it is recommended to use insect repellent and wear long trousers and tops.
Activities include sport fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving, sea kayaking, rafting or just relaxing on the beach.
For an alternate mode of transport, take a ride on a water taxi, available along the beaches.
There are plenty of small boutiques to explore as well as street markets, selling wood-carved sculptures, jewellery, handbags and clothing.
Head to a 'Soda', a traditional eatery, for an authentic Costa Rican experience. Try seafood and meat platters, a favourite of both locals and visitors alike.
