About Lomfjord
Lomfjord is a scenic fjord which cuts from Hinlopen into north eastern Spitsbergen, a group of islands located between the Arctic Ocean, Barents Sea, Greenland Sea, and the Norwegian Sea.
Activities mainly centre around hiking opportunities in Faksevågen, on the western side of Lomfjord. The scenery here is characterised by ice caps, glaciers and mountains.
It is home to a number of reindeer and polar bears and walruses may also be seen, especially if there is drift ice around.
The area is also known for it's breeding colonies of Guilllemots.
