Geraldton

Geraldton is a city in the mid west region of Western Australia.

Places of interest include the Western Australia Museum, HMAS Sydney II Memorial, various air tours to neighbouring islands and surrounding areas, Oakabella Homestead and the Visitor Centre where local information and maps can be found.

Point Moor Lighthouse and the nearby Lighthouse Keeper’s cottage houses a historical collection.

St Francis Xavier Cathedral was completed in 1938, guided walks are occasionally available for a small fee.

There are many beaches in and around Geraldton, windsurfing, surfing, yachting, fishing and diving are particularly popular here.

There are two major shopping centres and lots of smaller stores for all your shopping needs. Olives, honey, jewellery and local arts and crafts can be found at the visitor centre.

Fresh fish, especially lobster is a local speciality. Seafood and international choices such as Italian, Indian, Chinese and Thai are also on offer.

Cruise ships are required to anchor and tender passengers ashore.
