About Busselton
Busselton is located in the south west region of Western Australia, 220km south west of Perth.
Places of interest include Busselton Jetty's Interpretive Centre, the Underwater Observatory and the Cultural Heritage Museum. For families, Wonky Windmill Farm and Eco Park is a 25 minute drive away.
Take a wine tasting tour at one of the many wineries in the famous Margaret River area, many offer fine restaurants, excellent galleries and great gift shops.
Other attractions a short drive away from Busselton include Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, home to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, Australia's last manned lighthouse, Ngilgi Cave (pronounced Neelgee) with it's stalactites and stalagmites and Canal Rocks, a granite outcrop that has eroded to form a small series of canals.
For adventure seekers, take to the skies in a Tiger Moth biplane or helicopter, try a tandem skydive or snorkel and scuba dive in the clear waters of Geographe Bay.
Busselton Foreshore is a gorgeous white-sand beach, with a shallow, gently sloping sea floor, perfect for safe swimming. A U-shaped jetty forms a swimming enclosure, which is ideal for small children. Here you will also find playgrounds, barbecue facilities, picnic areas, toilets, showers and many pathways to explore for walkers and cyclists.
Meelup Beach is around a 35 minute drive away and is a popular swimming and snorkelling beach, whilst Yallingup Beach (40 minutes drive away) is best for surfers.
Fine wine from the surrounding area makes a good souvenir.
Local restaurants offer a wide variety of tempting dishes from fresh fish and chips, seafood platters, local specialities and international favourites such as Thai, Chinese, Italian and Indian.
