Overview Of The Port Of Aitutaki

About Aitutaki
Aitutaki is one of the Cook Islands, an island country in the South Pacific Ocean.

Aitutaki is divided into 8 different districts, Arutanga is the main village. Car and scooter are the main forms of transport on Aitutaki (available for hire). Taxis are available but an expensive option.

The island is surrounded by breathtaking beaches to relax on. The stunning natural reef is the perfect place for diving or snorkelling the underwater beauty.

Activities on the island include scuba diving, fishing, hiking, windsurfing and golf at Aitutaki 9 hole Golf Club.

To relax, head to SpaPolynesia Aitutaki, a professional spa resort.

The tiny One Foot Island is home to the world’s most remote post office. Here you can relax on sandy beaches, or swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters.

Boat trips around the lagoon can be organised or hire a kayak to explore on your own.

The highest peak, Maunga Pu, offers good views of the whole island.

Learn more about the marine life living in the island’s lagoon and see baby sea turtles and giant clams at the Ministry of Marine Resources (open weekdays only).

Cook Islands Ukuleles, carvings, hand painted sarongs, tropical shirts and local arts and crafts all make good gifts.

A popular local dish on the island is 'ike mata' (raw tuna) with coconut milk. Many restaurants may need reservations. Takeaway options include fish and chips and barbeque food.
