Vigo

Vigo is a busy fishing port in the province of Galicia, on the north west coast of Spain.

There is a shopping mall right next to the Cruise Terminal, the old centre of Vigo has many small shops and cafes to explore.

Popular tourist attractions include the Castro Fortress, Cathedral of Santa Maria de Vigo and Cies Isles. There are also numerous museums to visit.

Samil Sands, a few miles south of Vigo is considered the best beach within reach of the city.

Seafood is a very popular choice for mealtimes, especially oysters. Ribiero is a local sparkling wine usually served very chilled.

The Cruise Terminal is located at the Muelle de Transatlanticos, crossing the palm tree-lined Avenida del Castillo waterfront promenade will get you to the centre of the city.

There is a taxi rank just outside the port gates and also a ferry terminal about 100m away from the dock.

The train station in Vigo is about a 10 minute taxi ride away from the port. There is a Tourist Information office at the Cruise Terminal.
