About Nauplia
Nauplia (or Nafplio) is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece, south east Europe.
The town’s centre - Plateia Syntagma, is where many stores and shops sell local handicrafts and souvenirs such as jewellery, worry beads and honey.
Palamidi is a castle built in the 1700s.
The Komboloi Museum showcases the many kinds and varieties of 'kombolois' or worry beads, a traditional Greek item.
The Archaeological Museum has an impressive array of Greek artefacts and treasures.

Tiryns is a Mycenaean archaeological site in Argolis, around 5km north of Nauplion. Tiryns was a hill fort with occupation ranging back before the beginning of the Bronze Age.
Arvanitia is Nauplia's town rocky/pebbly beach. Karathona sandy beach is around 3km from Nauplia, it is possible to walk here from Arvanitia in around 45 minutes. Here you will find tavernas, watersports and sun loungers.
Mussels cooked in soft cheese and tomato sauce, 'tirokafteri' (spicy cheese), fried shrimp and freshly caught fish, octopus and clams are popular with locals and visitors alike.
