La Spezia

The port of La Spezia is located in north-west Italy.

There are numerous churches and museums in the city to visit and beaches within La Spezia's province.

The Cinque Terre is a very popular tourist attraction. These five villages are not accessible by car. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages. This and the surrounding areas are part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Wine and olive oil are highly regarded, delicacies include mussels stuffed with eggs, bread, Italian sausage, cheese, parsley and olive oil. Pizzas and handmade pasta are also widely available.

Ships dock at a floating pier and guests are tendered ashore. A sightseeing train runs from the pier which takes passengers into the walking area of the city although this is a walkable distance also.
