Heligoland

Heligoland is a small German archipelago in the North Sea. The islands are located in the Heligoland Bight (part of the German Bight) in the south-eastern corner of the North Sea.

Heligoland is a duty free zone. It is almost car-free which makes it a quiet and safe place to explore. The narrow streets are filled with quiet cafés and small cottages.

Lange Anna is a single, finger-like rock formation that is covered by breeding sea birds in the spring.

Take a trip to the Helgolander Dunes to spot grey seals, there are also lovely sandy beaches here.

Visit the Biologische Anstalt Helgoland, a marine biology research and service facility.
