Flekkefjord

Flekkefjord is a town and municipality in the county of Vest-Agder in Norway and also the western-most town of the geographical region Sørlandet.

The town has a beautiful, sheltered location between the fjords of Grisefjorden and Flekkefjorden, and is characterised by the old, picturesque wooden houses. The oldest part of town is called "Hollenderbyen" (Dutch town).

Outside Flekkefjord there is a beautiful archipelago. Its largest island, Hidra has an excellent museum with a collection of artefacts depicting the island's history.

Andabeløy is another small island with some wonderful hikes up in the hills.

Brufjell mountain's highest point is 184m above sea level and offers a fantastic view over the Lista landscape. At the top, there is a marked trail that leads to the potholes that lies horizontally at 20m above sea level. Brufjell is part of Magma Geopark and UNESCO.

Traditional Norwegian dishes include smoked salmon, 'kjøttkaker' (meatcakes), 'kjøttboller' (meatballs) and 'svinekoteletter' (pork chops).

Cruise ships dock at the pier, in the centre of town.
