Overview Of The Port Of Vitoria

About Vitoria
Vitória is the capital of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It is located on a small island within a bay where rivers meet the sea.

Attractions include Mosteiro Zen Morro da Virgem, Pedra da Cebola Park, Palacio Anchieta and Carlos Gomes Theatre.

The Camburi area is home to two famous squares, lively bars and good restaurants. Canto beach can also be found here.

The city has pretty tree lined streets and a 6km seafront, ideal for strolling.

Other places of interest include the Museu Solar Monjardem and Museu de Art do Espirito Santo, Vitoria Planetarium, Sao Gonalo Church and Boi Island.

Located in the central part of the island, Fonte Grande Park is the biggest park in Vitória. The park has many walking trails for visitors to explore and spot native animals such as snakes, mammals and birds. The highlight is the 309m high mountain where beautiful views over Vitória and nearby cities can be seen. (Park open Tuesday-Sunday).

For souvenir ideas, head to Capixaba Market, which sells a range of local crafts including wickerwork, ceramics and shell items. More traditional pottery can be found in the north of the city at Goiabeiras.

Brazilian dishes, Portuguese, fresh fish and seafood as well as international favourites such as Italian can all be found in local restaurants.
Cruise Terminal
Most cruise ships are able to dock here although tendering is also an option.

The Port of Vitória is the most difficult port for ships to access in Brazil as the Bay of Vitória is extremely narrow. The port is mostly used by cruise ships and the repair of ships and oil platforms.
