Rosendal

Rosendal is the administrative centre of the Kvinnherad municipality in Norway, Scandinavia.

Kvinnherad medieval church dates back to the 1200's and was built in a gothic/Romanesque style.

The Barony Rosendal was a private estate and manor house which now operates as a museum, guided tours are available. The 300 year old renaissance garden has viewpoints overlooking the fjord, mountains and waterfalls.

Folgefonna National Park covers an area of 545.2 km². Folgefonna is a collective term for three glaciers in the park, of which the southern one is Norway's third largest glacier. Folgefonna Breførarlag offers spectacular guided walks on the glacier where you can experience the blue ice of the Juklavass glacier.

Enjoy a nostalgic trip by horse and carriage on old roads in Rosendal or take a flightseeing tour.

Viketunet is a 3 minute walk from the dock. Here you will find an old Bailiff’s farm with 7 houses, the oldest dating from about 1611. There is an exhibition of both old and new handicrafts and light refreshments are available.

Discover the whole history of Norway in the village of Herand, from the 9,000 year old dwelling site from the Stone Age to modern fish farming. The cultural trail and the exhibitions at the Herand Cultural History Center are recommended.

Cruise ships anchor and tender passengers ashore at this port of call.
