Pole to Pole (Main Dining Room)
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Pole to Pole on deck 7 is Saga Sapphire’s main dining room open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Accommodating 620 guests, seating is open plan although if fixed seating is preferred a limited number of tables are available at dinner which can be booked via the Maître d’. Styled in the theme of different continents, the restaurant is waiter service and menu options include vegetarian, diabetic desserts and gluten free choices.
Breakfast is served from 8am to 10am and guests, after being seated, can order a cooked breakfast including eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, tomatoes, smoked haddock and kippers via their waiter along with toast. Continental options including cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, cold meats, Danish pastries and hot croissants are self service from the buffet area.
Lunch time (from 12.30pm to 2pm) offers a set three course menu along with an extensive self service salad bar with cold cuts of meat and fish. The set menu includes dishes such as prawn cocktail, mackerel and soups for starters, ploughman’s, shepherd’s pie, paella, pasta dishes and a full English roast on Sundays for main courses and ice cream, crumbles and lemon meringue pie for dessert.
The Dinner menu includes a Lean and Light Option (for example Poached Cod Fillet with Tropical Fruit Salsa and Wild Rice) and always available options of Grilled Salmon, Sirloin Steak or Chicken Breast served with Steamed Vegetables.
The right hand side of the menu offers appetisers, soups, salads, main courses and a vegetarian dish with a selection of desserts to follow.
An example menu is as follows:
Appetisers: Smoked Salmon, Scallops, Shrimps and Dill Mousseline or individual Beef Oxtail and Mushroom Puddings.
From the Tureen: Beef Consommé with Royale Vegetables, Bouillabaisse Fish Soup with Croutons or Chilled Raspberry and Rhubarb soup.
Salad: Mixed Garden Greens with Avocado, Yellow and Red Tomatoes and Oyster Mushrooms
Main course: Grilled Lobster Tail with Soft Herb Butter, Oven Road Duck Breast with a Shallot Sauce, Berry Compote and a Gateau Forestiere Potato or Fillet of Angus Beef with a Bordeaux Red Wine Sauce and Potato Dauphine
Vegetarian Option: Tomato, Zucchini and Goat Cheese Tart

The Verandah

The Verandah is an informal dining venue where guests can grab a light meal and watch their food being cooked in the state of the art show kitchen. It is located on deck 9 with open seating.
With the choice of either indoor seating or al fresco dining, it is open from breakfast until late at night.
Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10.00 and has a choice of two cooked dishes as well as a continental breakfast including fruits and cereals which are self service.
Guests wishing to opt for a light lunch between 12.30pm and 2.00pm can choose a grilled to order lunch from the on deck BBQ of meat or fish along with salad and pasta, whilst dinner options (served from 6.45pm to 9.00pm) offer a scaled down version of the menu on offer in the main dining room.

East to West is the ship's speciality reservation only complimentary restaurant seating 64 guests and open for dinner at 6.45pm. It is located on deck 9 port side.
Decorated with traditional carvings reflecting the mood of the East, the restaurant serves up a fusion of Indian, Sri Lankan and Thai cuisine offering a mouth watering medley of dishes in a three course menu.
Examples of dishes are as follows:
Starter of Thai Fish Cakes or Spring Rolls
Mains of Slow Cooked Spiced Marinated Duck on Wilted Bok Choy, Roast Pork Belly in Honey Broth or Sizzling Marinated Beef Fillet with Cracked Black Pepper all accompanied by a choice of different types of rice such as egg fried rice.
Desserts include ice cream.

The Beach Club

The Beach Club by the pool serves gourmet fish, chips and mushy peas in a basket lined with a copy of the “Sapphire Times” newspaper or steak burgers along with tea and coffee, all waiter service. It is located on deck 11 and open from 11.30am to 3pm.
The two beach huts offer self service soft vanilla ice cream in a cornet (including a gluten free cone option) with a selection of sauces in one hut, and a wide array of wrapped boiled sweets in the other.

Afternoon tea is served in the Britannia Lounge on deck 8 between 4.15pm and 5.00pm with a selection of sandwiches, finger bites, cakes, scones and biscuits.
