Ocean Princess

Ocean Princess' Club Restaurant, located on deck 5, is it's main dining room.

With open seating from 7.30am to 9.30am for breakfast, 12 to 1.30pm for lunch (sea days), dinner is traditional dining at set tables with either early (6pm) or late (8.15pm) seatings.

The lunch time menu offers starters, main courses and desserts ranging from items such as avocado and shrimp or soup for starters, pasta, salmon or beef for mains and apple tarte tatin or ice cream for dessert.

Dinner offers a four course menu with set choices on one side of the menu and nightly changing themed selections on the other side. The option of an 'always available menu' is also provided including steaks, chicken breast and salmon.

Examples of evening meals include poached seafood and avocado, vegetarian spring rolls or blue crab cake quiche for starters, grilled vegetables on lettuce salad or tortellini and spinach soup, New York strip with peppercorn sauce, lobster or spaghetti carbonara for mains and pistachio ice cream, chocolate cake or fresh fruits for dessert.

Vegetarian options such as aubergine lasagne and fettuccine alfredo are also available along with Lotus Spa healthy options.

The Pizzeria on deck 9 is located within the Panorama Buffet and serves slices of thin crust pizza from 11am to 2.30pm and 7pm onwards (subject to change).

The Sterling Steakhouse, located on deck 10, is the ship's second select dining room.

Open from 6.30pm to 11pm, guests can choose from a range of appetisers (like black tiger prawns or carpaccio of beef tenderloin), soups and salads (from black and blue onion soup to shrimp and pancetta bisque), seafood or steaks and desserts such as lemon meringue pudding tart or caramel cheesecake parfait.

The deck BBQ serves the pool area on deck 9 with a selection of burgers, fries and hot dogs etc.

It opens from 11am until 12pm (subject to change).

The Panorama Buffet is Ocean's casual buffet style eatery open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner and has both indoor and outdoor seating.

With a selection of self-serve cooked and continental breakfast options (including cooked to order eggs) and themed buffets such as Chinese and carvery for lunch, at dinner it becomes a casual restaurant.

Dinner 6pm to 11pm

Sabatini's is one of Ocean Princess' two select restaurants.

Located on deck 10 it opens for suite passengers only for breakfast between 7.30am and 10am, and then from 6.30pm to 11pm for all guests for dinner (subject to reservations).

The menu comprises of antipasti (hot and cold appetisers, soups and salads), pasta (featuring nightly speciality), second piatti (main course) and desserts.

Examples of dishes include twice baked artichoke soufflé, calamari, veal and seared tuna medallions, baked striped bass, lobster and tiramisu or citrus tart.

Passengers can make use of the complimentary room service at any time of the day or night. For continental breakfast (offering fruit juice, cereals, Danish pastries, croissants, egg, cheese and bacon breakfast muffin, hot beverages and fruit) guests can fill in the breakfast card and place it on their door at night.

With coffee, iced tea and milk available round the clock, food options range from sandwiches served with either fries, crisps or coleslaw, soups and salads, hot dishes such as beef chilli, lasagne and burgers, and sweets such as chocolate cake or cookies.

For passengers wishing to enjoy a romantic dining experience with breathtaking views from their own balcony, this special room service option is available for either breakfast (at $32 per couple) or dinner ($50 per person).

Breakfast includes speciality pastries, fresh fruits, quiche, smoked salmon and other special treats served with half a bottle of champagne.

For dinner, personal dedicated wait staff serve a special dining experience on guests' stateroom balconies.

Dinner begins with a hosted cocktail party with fresh flowers and champagne followed by a deluxe four course meal of appetisers, salad, main course such as lobster tail or juicy steak, rounded off by dessert.

The Chef's Table experience provides the chance to tour the ship's busy galley during dinner service, where the ship's executive chef previews the evenings menu with a selection of hors d'oeuvres and Champagne for guests to enjoy.

Guests are then taken to a private table in the main dining room to enjoy a specially created multi-course menu accompanied by selected wines to complement each course.

During the dessert course the chef re-joins the table to discuss the evenings menu and share their culinary knowledge.

Available for up to 10 passengers per night (which may include mixed groups), the experience can be booked either through the ships DINE telephone line or at the dining reservations table set up on the first night of the cruise.

The experience costs $95 per person and includes a complimentary copy of Princess' cookery book and photo taken at the private table with the chef.

Menus tend to be formed around regional specialities from a recent port visited and an example of one such menu includes (amongst other dishes):-

~ Shrimp margarita with Avocado and Mango
or Foie gras terrine on brioche

~ Asparagus risotto with lobster tail

~ Sangria granite

~ Trio of beef, veal and pork tenderloin
served with mashed potato, grilled
asparagus and charred cherry tomatoes

~ Baked Camembert with pine nuts and a port
wine reduction with walnut bread

~ Soft centre cake with marshmallows and
chocolate amaretto sauce

~ Coffee or tea and homemade amaretti
biscotti.

The Tahitian lounge opens a few times during each cruise to serve a traditional complimentary British pub lunch with favourites such as bangers and mash or cottage pie and bread and butter pudding with traditional drinks including Boddingtons and Fosters.
