The Versailles Dining Room (aft of deck 6 and seating 502 guests) is one of the ship's two main dining rooms serving a multi-course menu of freshly prepared cuisine. It is open for Breakfast (8.00am to 10.00am) Lunch (12 to 1.30pm) and Dinner (5pm to 9.00pm).

All dining on Norwegian Cruise Lines are freestyle (no fixed times or pre-assigned seating).

Breakfast offerings include eggs cooked to order, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, sausages and bacon.

The Lunch Time menu provides guests with a three course menu comprising of Appetisers, Soups and Salads, Entrees and Desserts with dishes such as Goat’s Cheese and Pancetta Quiche or Split Pea Soup to start, BBQ Pork Ribs, Pasta or Sandwiches for mains and Warm Peach and Blueberry Cobbler or Ice Cream for dessert.

The menu for dinner offers a choice of two options, one being Classic Selections which are served everyday such as Mexican Mushroom and Cheese Tortilla Crisp, Garden Fresh Salad or Onion Soup for starters, mains of Grilled New York Strip Steak, Braised Lamb Shank and Penne Pasta and desserts ranging from Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cake to Cheesecake or Bread and Butter Pudding.

The second option on the menu is the chef’s signature specialities which change daily with dishes such as Prosciutto with Melon and Figs or Black Bean Soup, Grilled Sirloin Steak or Poached Cod and Lemon and Ginger Custard or Carrot Cake to finish.

Aqua is the ship's second main dining room open for dinner only from 5.30pm to 10pm and seating 322 guests.

Located midship on deck 6, it offers the same menu as Versailles with dishes such as Broccoli Soup, Sea Scallops or Greek Salad for starters, Baked Chicken Breast or grilled New York Strip Steak for mains and Carrot Cake or Cheesecake for dessert. The Daily menu includes a selection of healthy light choices.

Le Bistro, located on deck 6, is the ship's additional charge reservation only French dining option with paintings adorning the walls and serving both modern classical and contemporary French fare.

Open from 5.30pm to close, a cover charge of $20 per person applies to this 82 seater restaurant (children aged 4 to 12 can eat free from the kids menu or half price from the kid’s speciality menu). Pizza 24/7 is the ship's 24-hour pizza delivery service delivering homemade 16" stone baked pizza direct to guests' table, stateroom or favourite lounge or bar. A $5 delivery charge is applicable.

Teppanyaki on deck 7 midship (seating up to 12 guests at a time) within Ginza has seating’s at 12pm, 5.00pm, 6.30pm and 8.00pm and 9.30pm and invites guests to sit around the central cooking area for an Asian dining experience where they watch the chefs show off their skills slicing and dicing whilst preparing meat, poultry, fish and vegetables on an iron “Teppan” griddle.

The menu starts with Miso soup and Seaweed Salad with Ginger Dressing before guests select from either classics such as Chicken Yakiudon, Filet Mignon or Vegetable, or combinations such as Samurai and Shinto. Garlic fried rice and Teppanyaki vegetables accompany these dishes followed by dessert of either Green Tea Cake with Cashew Nut Brittle or Fresh Fruit Sashimi.

Moderno Churrascaria, located midship on deck 8 of the ship, serves succulent skewers of barbecued meats which are carved tableside. Guests control how much they want with their green and red card, green means the carving continues and red is shown to indicate when guests are full.

Moderno serves signature cuts of beef, lamb, pork and chicken along with rice, black beans, mashed potatoes and sweet fried bananas on the side, a selection of salads, Brazilian cheese bread and desserts including coconut flan, papaya crème and mango rice pudding.

Cagney’s menu selections begin with starters such as shrimp cocktail or oysters, soups and salads including lobster bisque and Caesar salad, mains of 10oz New York Strip steaks, Salmon Oscar or vegetarian saffron casserole amongst other dishes with the option of 6oz lobster tails (surcharge of $8 each), sides ranging from baked potatoes to steamed asparagus and fries with white truffle oil and parmesan cheese and desserts including raspberry crème brûlée and warm espresso chocolate brownies served with macadamia ice cream.

Additionally Cagney’s opens for suite guests for breakfast (from 7.30am to 9.30am) serving the likes of fresh fruit juices, waffles with fresh berries, buttermilk hot cakes, smoked salmon frittata, steak and eggs, Danish pastries and muffins and lunch from 12.00pm to 1.30pm.

The Sushi Bar is located within Ginza on deck 7 and open from 12pm to 1.30pm and 5.30pm to close. It serves Japanese sushi and sashimi expertly prepared as you watch.

With an à la carte charge, prices range from $2.25 to $2.75 for two pieces of sushi, $3 to $4.50 for four pieces of sashimi, and between $3.00 and $4.50 for rolls.

Alternatively guests can opt for a sushi and sashimi combo. The Diamond selection costs $12 for a tuna sashimi, rainbow roll, prawn sashimi and California roll whilst the Ruby package (also $12) comprises of big eye tuna sashimi, octopus sushi, an eel, avocado and cucumber roll and a barbequed eel, yellowtail and avocado roll.

It opens from 8am to 10.30am for breakfast snacks and 11.30am to 5pm (subject to weather conditions).

The Market Cafe (seating 475 guests) on deck 12 midship is the ship's buffet restaurant offering a family-friendly menu from 7am to 1.30am.

Breakfast options include items such as fruit juice, fresh fruit, muffins and pastries, cereals, pancakes, waffles, bacon, baked beans, sausages, cold cuts, pancakes, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Port side of the cafe there is also an Omelette and Fried Egg station open from 7am to 11.30am.

A Lunch Buffet is served from 11.30am to 2.30pm, Afternoon Snacks from 3.00pm to 5.00pm, Dinner Buffet from 5pm to 9.00pm and late night snacks between 9.30pm and 1.30am. A Crepes station also opens from 5.30pm to 9pm.

Lunch and dinner options are similar with a range of salads, pasta, pizza, Indian dishes, Chinese dishes, vegetarian options, cold cuts, meat, vegetables and sandwiches with a few extra hot options for dinner such as additional pasta dishes, carvery and potato gratin.

The cafe also features the Kid’s Cafe in one corner with special chairs and tables at children’s height and their own menu selections.

Special themed buffets are held in the Market Cafe such as Norwegian’s Chocolate Buffet as well as family activities such as cupcake decorating and pizza making.

The Blue Lagoon Restaurant, is located on deck 8 midship overlooking the Grand Atrium, with seating for 66 guests. Norwegian Star’s 24-Hour Food Court is the ideal place to grab a quick snack from within the family friendly atmosphere.

The restaurants serves an Express Breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, choice of Danish pastries and either tea or coffee. Alternatively the following options are available to guests to select from:

Breakfast is served from 6.30am to 10am via the Room Service Breakfast Order Form, whilst items such as Chicken Soup, Greek Salad, Sandwiches, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Omelettes, Cheesecake and Fruit Plates can be ordered 24 hours a day.

Children’s selections are also available such as Chicken Fingers, Macaroni Cheese and Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches (all served with carrot sticks and potato chips), Cookies, Brownies and Ice Cream.

The Chef's Table dining experience features a nine-course, upscale menu consisting of unique and contemporary creations using the highest quality ingredients and sophisticated cooking techniques. Each course is accompanied by wines that are specially paired by a Master Sommelier.

The two-and-a-half hour experience starts with a reception where guests enjoy a glass of champagne with the ship's Executive Chef, Food and Beverage Director, Restaurant Manager, Assistant Maître d' and Head Wine Steward. Guests are then invited to take a group photo before sitting down to begin their meal in an intimate restaurant setting. The Executive Chef describes the first two courses: an Amuse Bouche
‘Molecular Gastronome' consisting of Spherical Mango, Vodka & Jalapeno Ravioli and an Orange-Wasabi Glazed Ahi Tuna Tartar with freshly-baked Sesame Crisp.

Courses one and two are accompanied by the Master Sommelier's paired wine selection. Asparagus Cream is served for course three, followed by the fourth course, a Short Crust Tartlet and Grapefruit and Moscato Granite is served as course number five. As the Executive Chef describes the ingredients and technique used to create the courses, the second wine selection is served and guests are invited to ask questions about the dishes.

The sixth course comprises of a Plantain Crusted, Pan Seared Sea Bass accompanied by Mango, Papaya & Avocado Salsa and Lobster Veloute and a Milk-Fed Veal Chop with Anna Potatoes, Sautéed Spinach and Truffle Veal Jus is served for course number seven. A cheese platter filled with an assortment of gourmet cheeses is served as course eight and course nine, dessert, offers a choice of either a Yogurt-Mousse Dome with Lychee Raspberry Crème, Hazel Sablee and Lime Vanilla Reduction; or a Chocolate Log with 'Spiced' Dark Rum, Infused Banana and Cocoa Mousse.

This dining experience has a cover charge of $89 per person, including gratuities, a behind-the-scenes galley tour, one group photo and an individual photo with the Executive Chef. The Chef's Table is limited to 12 guests per experience and is offered once per cruise.

Once per cruise, Norwegian Star holds a “Presumed Murdered Lunch” for around 80 guests at a charge of $20 per person (reservations required). Held in the Aqua dining room (midship, deck 6) at around 12pm, entertainment is provided by “The Second City” cast who teamed up with crime novelist Scott Turow to create a hilarious who-done-it murder mystery where guests try and find the killer whilst enjoying a set three course lunch (usually a salad to start, chicken or salmon main course and a chocolate based dessert).
