The Sound of Music Show Lounge on decks 5 and 7 seats 1081 guests and features live music, dancing and contemporary musical stage productions.

Acts range from Comedians and Jugglers to the ships Welcome Aboard Show, and “You Can’t Stop The Beat” production show as the popular audience participation Love and Marriage Game Show and Bingo during the day.

The 547 guest capacity Circuit Lounge, located aft of deck 8, is decorated with shades of blues and purples is a large lounge with sea views out of the floor to ceiling windows and its own stage and dance floor.

During the day guests can relax in the lounge and enjoy the views on offer whilst by night the area transforms into a vibrant lounge with game shows (including Quest and Battle of the Sexes)and music such as an 80’s video dance party. From midnight until late the space becomes the ships night club known as “Twenty” featuring the ships resident DJ and dancers.

Casino Royale located on deck 5 features over 150 slot machines in various denominations, Blackjack, Roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker and Texas Hold’Em.

Tournaments take place during the cruise with large prizes to be one (fees apply to take part) as well as complimentary gaming sessions to teach those new to casinos how to play the games.

All portraits taken by the ships onboard photographers are displayed on deck 3 by the main Centrum for guests to view and purchase.

Children can make their own cuddly toys at the Pets at Sea Stand in the Centrum on deck 5 which opens from 8.00pm to 9.30pm each night and has a selection of animals and outfits to choose from.

The photo shop on deck 5 just off the Centrum sells a range of photographic products from underwater cameras, batteries and memory cards to accessories.

Guests wishing to have a temporary airbrushed tattoo done can do so on deck 5 of the Centrum between 7.00pm to 10.30pm and poolside on some days from 4.30pm to 6.00pm.

The Centrum Shops on deck 5 offer an array of merchandise ranging from perfume and jewellery to liquor and cruise wear.

The boutiques include a liquor shop, jewellery shop, logo souvenir shop, photo shop, perfume shop, and General store offering a range of sundries from sun tan lotion to medicines. Located in the centre of the shopping area are display cases where guests can browse through featured items located in the shops and purchase specials of the day.

The Centrum, a seven-story atrium surrounded by bars, lounges and unique shops, makes a great central meeting place with comfortable small seating areas provided on a number of decks and a range of activities on offer on deck 3 from 70’s disco inferno dance parties to piano melodies and Shufflegolf competitions.

Monarch of the Seas doesn’t have a cards room although informal Bridge play takes place in Boleros on deck 7 as detailed in the daily cruise compass newsletter.

Adults can learn anything from scrapbook making to jewellery making, Salsa dancing and poker skills in the Explorer Academy workshops held on board Monarch of the seas. Events usually take place in the Schooner bar located on deck 5 opposite the casino.
