About Ushuaia
Ushuaia is the capital of Provincia de Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur Province, Argentina in South America. Ushuaia is located in a wide bay on the southern coast of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego.

Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world, it's location offers the opportunity to enjoy the sea, forests and mountains.

The End of the World Museum is near the dock, you can get your passport stamped here.

For adventure seekers, book a canopy tour and zip through the forests on cables and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Tierra del Fuego National Park has dramatic scenery, with waterfalls, forests, mountains and glaciers. The Senda Costera (Coastal Path) is a popular hiking trail within the park. There are 20 species of terrestrial mammals and 90 species of bird here. The park can be reached by car or train.

Also within park is a popular trail - Bahia Lapataia to the end of RT-3 (Fin del Mundo). Bahia Lapataia is the very southern terminus of the Pan American Highway. You will see Lapataia Bay, beautiful birds, unique trees as well as a view of the Andes in Chile.

Laguna Esmeralda is a beautiful lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. The area is popular with hikers (note: the peat bogs can get very muddy).

Excursions are also available to Wolf Island, boat trips through the Beagle Channel and flightseeing tours to Antarctica.

Cerro Castor (Castor Mount) is a modern ski facility with around twenty ski slopes of various difficulty levels, all with stunning views.

Take a walk around Ushuaia bay for lovely views or board a boat and discover the surrounding islands.

For spectacular sweeping views of the southernmost tip of the earth, take the marked trail in the centre of town which leads visitors on a gruelling hike up Martial glacier.

The lighthouse at the end of the world (officially called San Juan Lighthouse Rescue) is located north-east of Staten Island and is oldest and first to be built in southern waters.

Av San Martin is the main street in the heart of the town. There is also a craft market near the port offering some local gift and handicraft items.

Traditional Argentine cuisine includes grilled barbecue meats (steak and beef ribs), 'chorizo' (pork sausage), 'morcilla' (blood sausage), 'mollejas' (sweetbread) and 'chimichurri', a sauce of herbs, garlic and vinegar, is often used as an accompaniment. Seafood, Italian and Spanish dishes are also widely eaten.
Cruise Terminal
Cruise ships dock in the centre of town. At tne end of the dock, there are tourist booths offering excursions and taxis are available but unmetered.
