About Trois-Rivieres
Trois-Rivières is a city in the Mauricie region of Quebec, Canada.

The city's main street is Boulevard des Forges, which has a great variety of cafes, restaurants, clubs, bars and shops.

Notable landmarks include the Forges du Saint-Maurice, a 1730's foundry, the Ursulines Monastery and Notre-Dame-du-Cap Basilica.

The Old Prison of Trois-Rivières opened in 1822 and was classified a historic monument. Guides tell about life in the prison, which was closed in 1986 for unhealthy conditions.

There are many museums in the city including the Military museum, Borealis which tells the history of paper and logging in the area and Circuit en Art.

The Heritage Trail features 70 information panels erected mainly in the city’s historic district. These panels recount the history of a street or neighbourhood with its residents and buildings.

Take the tourist bus and explore the many attractions of the area.

Plein Air Ville-Joie is located on Lac St Pierre, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Here you will find a trail through the forest, stream and large beach.

The Harbourfront Park has a 3 level tourist walking area with restaurants and unobstructed views of the Saint-Laurent River, harbour and the Laviolette Bridge.

The Île Saint-Quentin Park recreational area offering a wide range of activities including walking paths, beach, outdoor swimming pool/wading pool, children’s playground, canoeing, climbing and volleyball. There is also a restaurant and equipment rental services.

Les Rivières Shopping Centre features 150 boutiques, Carpe Diem soap makers is a boutique and workshop filled with a wide range of skin products made onsite and for local souvenirs, head to Tourisme Trois-Rivières Souvenir Shop for exclusive local items such as clothing, books and postcards.

Quebec is most famous for its tourtières (meat pies), pâté chinois, pea soup, cretons, ham dishes, maple desserts such as Grand-Pères and sweet treat "tire Ste-Catherine" (St Catherine's taffy).
