Sydney is a community in Nova Scotia, Canada. Situated on Cape Breton Island's east coast, it belongs administratively to the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

Places of interest in Sydney include St George's Anglican Church, Cossit House which was built in 1787, St Patrick's Church Museum and the Cape Breton Centre for Science and Heritage Museum. The Fortress of Louisbourg is the largest historical reconstruction in North America.

Cruise ships dock at the Port of Sydney. Within the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion, facilities include a car hire kiosk, bar and Visitor Information Centre.

Home to the world’s largest fiddle, the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion has plenty of exhibitions depicting life here on the island. Cape Breton has a rich history of music, aboriginal culture, and much more for visitors to discover.

The centre of town is a short walk away. Sydney is very small and very walkable, however you will need either car hire or a taxi to explore further afield.
