Overview Of The Port Of Seward

About Seward
Seward is a city in Kenai Peninsula Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska in the northwest extremity of the North American continent.

Local places of interest include Mount Marathon, Kenai Fjords National Park and the Alaska SeaLife Centre.

Exit Glacier is outside of town, and is noticeably receding making the hike to the ice longer each year.

Visit the Resurrection Bay Historical Society Museum for the history of Seward.

For something a bit different, see the glacier from the seat of a small plane.

Sport fishing, kayaking, sailing and hiking are also popular options.

Seward is very bike friendly. A paved bike path runs from the downtown business district through the harbour and along the highway.

Fresh Alaskan fish and seafood are extremely popular dining options but burgers, salads and Mexican options are also on offer.
Cruise Terminal
Cruise ships dock at the north end of town on Port Avenue. The small boat harbour where Kenai Fjords tour boats depart is less than a mile away. Downtown is roughly another mile further down the road.

Shops, restaurants, tourist and tour information can be found at the small boat harbour.

A free shuttle bus runs from the cruise dock to the tour boat docks, Alaska SeaLife Centre and downtown.

Taxis are available near the cruise dock or can be flagged down in town.
