Overview Of The Port Of Savona

About Savona
Savona is in the region of Liguria, in northern Italy.

Behind Savona’s port facilities is the graceful medieval centre. The baroque Cattedrale di Nostra Signora Assunta (Piazza Cattedrale) and the Fortezza del Priamàr (Piazza Priamar) being two places of interest to visit.

Adjacent to the Cathedral and built 1480-1483, is the Cappella Sistina (Sistine Chapel), containing the Mausoleum erected by the Della Rovere Pope Sixtus IV to honour his parents.

For beaches, head to Spotorno, around 13km from Savona. The main area is the Via Aurelia beyond which is the long sandy beach, very popular in summer. The seaside promenade leads to a succession of gardens and small squares up to the centre of the ancient village.

Seafood is a popular choice in Savona. Mushrooms, chestnuts, truffles and asparagus also feature in many dishes.
Cruise Terminal
The Cruise Terminal is on 3 levels, with facilities such as newsagent, coffee shop, snack bar and a bank.

A covered parking area is provided for taxis, buses and cars.

The centre of Savona is around 300m walk over a small bridge.
