About Prince Rupert
Prince Rupert is a port city in the province of British Columbia, Canada.

The very popular and easy 5.4km hiking trail at Butze Rapids Park is located 10 minutes (5km) by car on Highway 16 from Prince Rupert. Guided Walking Tours are also offered by the Museum of Northern BC.

Take a boat trip to see whales or grizzly bears.

The Museum of Northern British Columbia is the centrepiece of the Cultural District, housing art and artefacts exploring the wealth of history and culture of the Northwest Coast.

Visit the North Pacific Cannery, take a guided tour, see exhibits, original architecture, historically-inspired cuisine and pristine wilderness which tell the story of an industry that played an integral role in British Columbia's economic, cultural and natural development over the last century.

Activities on offer include sport fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking, flightseeing trips, golf and kayaking.

The Cow Bay Shopping District brings together an assortment of independently owned shops and restaurants for a taste of the local area. Here you will find art and gift galleries, souvenir shops, clothing, jewellery and furniture. The Historic Downtown Shopping District also has independently owned art galleries, craft stores, bookstores, jewellery, clothing stores and bakeries.

Fresh fish and seafood including crab, prawns, halibut, rockfish and salmon as well steak houses, Asian, Italian and West Coast fusion can be found in the many restaurants and pubs in the area.
Cruise Terminal
Cruise ships arrive at Northland Terminal in downtown Prince Rupert where there is a visitor's centre.

There are several coffee shops and cafes near to the cruise dock and Cow Bay is just a 10 minute walk away.

The walk up the hill to the downtown area takes around 10 minutes.

Those who choose to wander around Prince Rupert itself can do so on foot.

Car hire is located not far from the dock as is scooter hire. There is also a municipal bus system which you can take for rides around the city.
