Overview Of The Port Of Philip Island

About Philip Island
Phillip Island is located about 140km south-southeast from Melbourne, Victoria in Australia. Phillip Island forms a natural breakwater for the shallow waters of Western Port.

Popular things to do include the Penguin Parade, which takes place after dusk on Summerland Beach, kayaking, wildlife coast cruises and golf. Surfing, fishing and walking are also available with many cycling and hiking trails throughout the island, including a self guided Heritage walk. Museums include the National Vietnam Veterans Museum, 222 Studio/Gallery and the Mingara Gallery which features Australia art and Aboriginal paintings and craftwork.

Explore further afield with a bike/helicopter or coach tour.

Shops here include gift and specialist stores, fashion boutiques and bookstores.

Surfing is extremely popular and competitions are held regularly. There are many beaches but do check beforehand if they are safe for swimming/surfing as many south coast beaches have variable conditions.

Dining options include fresh fish and seafood, steaks, Italian, Chinese and casual fast food establishments.
