Mackay is a city on the eastern coast of Queensland, Australia.

Places of interest include the man made Blue Lagoon, which has a picnic and BBQ area, cafe, waterslide and play area, Queens Park and the Orchid Display Centre, Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens and Greenmount Homestead, where you can step back in time (limited opening hours).

Mackay’s coastline boasts 31 beaches and several tropical islands within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

The marina has a variety of restaurants and themed pubs overlooking a giant stone spit and long stretches of open beach.

The shopping hub in Mackay is located at Victoria and Wood Streets. Here you will find lots of fashion, jewellery and accessory shops and speciality stores selling gifts and homewares.

There is a wide range of dining choices from casual cafes and fast food, to local specialities and international favourites such as Indian, Chinese, Thai and seafood dishes.
