Overview Of The Port Of Lautoka

About Lautoka
Lautoka is the second largest city of Fiji. It is in the west of the island of Viti Levu, the largest island in the Republic of Fiji in the South Pacific Ocean.

The marina is a nice place to relax and grab a bite to eat.

Koroyanitu National Heritage Park offers hiking trails leading past waterholes, through small villages and up panoramic summits such as “Sleeping Giant” Mount Batilamu. Abaca (pronounced am-barth-a) village is at the base of Mt Koroyanitu (Mt Evans). The area has beautiful walks through native Dakua forests and grasslands, bird watching, archaeological sites and waterfalls.

The Botanical Gardens have a large variety of tropical plants. The park opposite the gardens is a favourite playground for children.

Take a boat trip and see where the movie "Blue Lagoon" was shot, scuba dive or hire a mountain bike and explore.

The shopping areas are located along Vitogo Parade, Naviti Street and Yasawa Street. Here you can find a vast array of goods including duty free items and handicrafts such as local pottery.

Golfers can head to the Lautoka Golf Club for a round or two.

There are many restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines including Chinese, Indian, Italian, European and Korean. Fish dishes such as mahi-mahi, snapper, mackerel and octopus are popular. Local dishes include 'kokoda' (raw white fish marinated in coconut cream, lime, onions and tomatoes) and 'lovo' which means "feast cooked in the earth" and generally includes fish, pork, chicken and vegetables.
