About Koror
Koror is the state comprising the main commercial centre of the Republic of Palau, an island country in the western Pacific Ocean. It consists of several islands, the most prominent being Koror Island.

There are many excursions on offer here, take a scenic helicopter tour, fishing or diving trip or explore the area by coach.

Jellyfish Lake is located on Eil Malk island in Palau and is one of it's most famous snorkelling sites. Millions of golden jellyfish migrate horizontally across the lake daily.

The Milky Way Lagoon is famous for being a natural spa treatment, tourists and locals alike apply the white mud from the lagoon all over their body. The lagoon offers a stunning view of natural beauty and is a good place to relax.

Rock Islands, which are mostly part uninhabited, are a popular diving and snorkelling area, famous for their beaches and blue lagoons.

Taki Falls on Babeldoab Island is the largest waterfall in Palau, an impressive 30m high and 37m wide.

At Belau National Museum there are roughly 4,500 objects and art collections relating to anthropology, art, history and nature. Items include Palauan beads and shell money, miniature replica of houses, domestic utensils, weapons, tools and original pieces of art can be seen around the museum.

Etpison Museum's collection includes displays of local tools, artefacts and heirlooms, traditional wear of Micronesians, old maps and rare shells of Palau and the pacific.

The small aquarium of Palau is dedicated to teaching people about the coral reef system and includes both indoor and outdoor exhibits containing many diverse creatures such as deep water butterflyfish, dartfish, coral crabs, shrimp and angelfish. There is also a giant clam and crocodile exhibit.

Long beach lies between the two rock-island south of Koror. Long beach is popular with locals and offers a beautiful white sand beach and the abundance of birds, seashell, corals and hermit crabs.

There are small shops and markets located throughout Main Street in downtown Koror. The two largest shopping centres are the WCTC Shopping Center and Surangel's Supercenter, both in the centre of town. Traditional Palauan storyboards are a popular buy.

Palauan cuisine includes local food such as taro, yam, potato, fish and pork. Restaurants in Koror consist mainly of Korean food, as well as Chinese, burgers, pizza and pasta.

Local dishes to try are creamy taro leaf soup with coconut, local fish soup, mangrove crabs in spicy sauce or grilled prawns and baked lobster with garlic butter.
