About Koper
Koper is a city in south-western Slovenia, central Europe.

Koper is a beautiful medieval city with small, narrow streets, old buildings and historical sites.

Visit St Mary's of the Assumption Cathedral and climb the 200+ steps of the Bell Tower (around 3 euros).

The Praetorian Palace is a 15th century Venetian Gothic palace, located in Tito Square, the main square. It houses the city government and a wedding hall.

The Regional Museum is housed in the Belgramoni-Tacco Palace, built early in the 17th century. It contains information and artefacts on the area's cultures and history.

The 12th century Carmine Rotunda Church here is a former baptistery.

There are some lovely beaches around the waterfront area.

Sample local wines at Vinakoper. There are displays of local wine making tools and the owners are happy to advise on all aspect of winemaking.

There are a few tourist shops here, souvenirs include speciality wines, crystal glass and bobbin lace.

Planet Tuš shopping centre is home to some 70 local and international shops, a food court, 6 screen cinema and bowling alley.

Typical dishes for this region include Jota (soup with pickled cabbage), Polenta (corn porridge), Obara (stew) as well as a range of fish dishes.
Cruise Terminal
Cruise ships dock at the modern passenger terminal, a short 300m walk to the main town square.

Taxis are plentiful and only a short bus or train ride away is Croatia and Italy.

The bus and train terminal share the same building.
