Overview Of The Port Of Khor Fakkan

About Khor Fakkan
Khor Fakkan is a town located on the Gulf of Oman coast of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In the Heritage District, the main attraction is Sharjah Fort, built in 1820. It is now a museum. The Islamic Museum is also in the district.

Note: Most attractions within the Heritage District have special opening times for women, it's best to check ahead of time for these. Also, women should not have exposed knees, cleavage or shoulders.

Souq Al Markazi or 'Blue Souq' is a collection of around 600 shops set on two levels selling anything from gold jewellery and designer clothing to carpets and traditional handicrafts.

The beach and promenade are the main tourist attraction, offering pleasant surroundings and watersports. As there is a vast variety of fish and coral life, snorkelling and diving trips are a popular pastime.

The Al Wurrayah Falls and the mountains surrounding the town are also of interest to the visitor.

Indian is the main cuisine here. Note: there is a ban here on alcohol.
