Overview Of The Port Of Inhambane

About Inhambane
Inhambane (pronounced In-yam-baan) is the capital of the Inhambane Province, located in southern Mozambique, in southeast Africa.

Take a Dhow Safari day trip to Magaruque, one of the small islands in the Bazaruto archipelago where you can relax on the beautiful beach. There is also a chance to do some snorkelling en-route.

The Barra peninsula and Tofo beach (about one hour away) offers great diving and snorkelling opportunities.

Nature lovers may enjoy a whale-watching trip or Mozambique Horse Safari from Vilanculos.

Visit the small old town, with old Portuguese-era villas, a 19th century mosque and the 18th century cathedral, one of the oldest European churches south of the Zambezi.

Machilla Magic is a community project that works with over 60 artists and their families in Vilanculos and its surrounding area. There is a wide range of diverse arts and crafts, 95% of which are made from recycled materials.

The town has shops and markets selling fresh produce, spices and crafts. Try the popular fresh Pau (large Portuguese rolls) in a local bakery.

Restaurants serve a range of cuisines including Portuguese, African, International and seafood.
