Overview Of The Port Of Ilhabela

About Ilhabela
Ilhabela is an archipelago and city situated 4 miles off the coast of São Paulo state in Brazil in South America.

About 85% of the island is within Ilhabela State Park.

Ilhabela is full of waterfalls and Gato waterfall is the largest one, at a height of around 80m. To get to Gato, there is a trail which starts at the end of Castelhanos beach, it is around a 30 minute walk through the forest, along a track of moderate difficulty.

Nossa Senhora D"Ajuda e Bom Sucesso Church is set on a hilltop overlooking the town of Praca Alfredo Oliani.

Explore round Ilha das Cabras (Cobra Island) by renting a kayak or snorkelling.

Other activities include rock climbing and cycling.

Bonete beach is only accessible by boat in calm seas, the beach is surrounded by mountains and rainforest and has a snack bar run by locals.

An easier option is the quiet Juliao Beach, popular with families as there are hardly any waves here.

There are various village stores on the island selling crafts, artwork and souvenirs.

Fresh shrimp is the local speciality on the island, cooked and served many ways.
