About Gudvangen
The tiny hamlet of Gudvangen is a village in the municipality of Aurland in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It lies at the head of the Nærøyfjord.

The Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjord are two arms of the Sognefjord are both beautiful and dramatic. The Nærøyfjord is included on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

Activities here include taking a Fjord cruise or safari, riding on the Flåm Railway, cycling and a visit to Gudvangen Magic White Caves.

Souvenirs include Viking items, skin and fur products, jewellery, trolls, books and clothing.

Aurlandsvegen is the mountain road between Aurland and Lærdal, here you'll find the Stegastein viewpoint which overlooks the Aurlandfjord. It is located 6km from the centre of Aurlandsvangen, 650m above sea level.

The nearby village of Bakka is about 5km to the north, which has a white wooden church which dates back to 1859.

The Kjelfossen waterfall is located just to the southeast of the village. Kjelfossen is one of the highest waterfalls in Norway with a total fall height of 755m.
