Overview Of The Port Of Greencastle

About Greencastle
Greencastle port is located on the north coast of County Donegal, Ireland.

Greencastle is traditionally a quaint little fishing port and popular seaside attraction in the summer months.

Seals are often spotted in the waters here. Overlooking the village are the ruins of a castle dating back to 1305. There is a more modern Martello Fort dating back to around 1800, beside the Norman ruin.

Places of interest include the Inishowen Maritime Museum and Planetarium, which is next to the harbour.

Beaches are located at Stroove and Kinnagoe Bay. It's also possible to walk along the coast from Greencastle to Moville.

A car ferry to Magilligan only takes 15 minutes, so accessing the North Coast and visiting the famous Giant’s Causeway is also an option.

Restaurants offer options such as fresh fish and seafood, traditional Irish cuisine and typical 'pub grub'.
Cruise Terminal
Greencastle lies just inside the entrance to Lough Foyle, cruise ships are required to anchor and tender passengers ashore.

Facilities close by include toilets, Tourist Information Centre, Bar, Restaurant, Post Office and Internet Access.
