Dubai

Dubai is a city state in the United Arab Emirates, located within the emirate of the same name. It is situated southeast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula.

Experience the city's history by starting at Khor Dubai, also known as Dubai Creek, which runs through the heart of the city. Dubai Museum is built around the Al-Fahidid Fort, dating back to the late 18th century. The Hatta Heritage Village offers social, cultural history and insights into the Bedouin lifestyle. Sheikh Saeed al-Maktoum House, gives an look into the pre oil times of the late 19th century.

While in Deira, don't miss the Gold Souk and the Spice Souk.

Burj Khalifa, built as the world's tallest building, has an observation deck on the 124th floor.

In Jumeirah there is the iconic hotel Burj Al Arab, and nearby resorts cluster around Souk Madinat. Jumeirah has its own public beaches which are lovely and safe.

The Wild Wadi Waterpark, next to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, features 23 rides.

Shopping malls here are huge and can be found all around the city. Popular buys include jewellery, designer goods, electrical items and oriental rugs.

Cuisine ranges from Arabic, Chinese and fast food to Indian and South Asian dishes. The sale of alcoholic beverages is regulated, but alcohol is available in bars and restaurants within hotels.

Cruise ships dock at the Dubai Cruise terminal. The cruise terminal has currency exchange, a duty free shop, souvenir shops, a post office and ATM machines.

The cruise terminal provides two bus shuttles, one each to Mercato Mall and City Centre. Taxis are also available at the port.
