Overview Of The Port Of Desroches Island

About Desroches Island
Île Desroches or Desroches Island is the main island of the Amirante Islands, part of the Outer Islands of the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean.

Explore the island by foot or bike, take a boat or fishing trip or swim and snorkel in the clear blue waters.

The island also has over 14km of lovely sand beaches to relax on.

Diving is particularly good here, with many reefs to choose from and lots of fish life.

At the Island Conservation Society Research Centre, guided nature walks around the island can be arranged so guests can learn about current research projects and the endangered fauna and flora species on the island. You may also come face to face with one of the giant ancient tortoises.

There currently is one restaurant, Pizzeria and "Takamaka bar" here. Cuisine is influenced by Indian, African, English and French, using exotic breadfruit, papayas, mangoes, limes and plenty of fresh seafood.
