About Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas (also known as Cabo) is in the state of Baja California Sur, located at the very tip of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico.
El Arco is one of the last two rocks that mark "land's end." It can be seen from the marina.
Numerous party-boat style trips (mostly half-day) are available in Cabo.
Souvenirs include glassware, silver jewellery, rugs and Indian blankets.
San Jose del Cabo is a 20 minute drive from Cabo San Lucas. It is charming and peaceful and features boutique shops selling handmade jewellery, cotton fashions, artwork and high-end items.
At Vitrofusion Y Arte (aka the Fabrica de Vidrio) on Cabo's outskirts, you can watch artisans create and design glass the old-fashioned way.
Land's End, on the southern tip of the Baja peninsula, is popular with scuba divers.
Golf is huge here with at least 6 courses welcoming day visitors.
Playa el Medano, a quick taxi ride from the marina, is a fun loving, busy beach. Activities include swimming, jet ski rentals, kayaking, water-skiing, banana boating, parasailing and volleyball.
The much quieter and more secluded Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach) is snuggled between rock formations near El Arco and fronts both the bay and the Sea of Cortez. A water taxi from the marina will drop you off and pick you up. (Note: there are no facilities here).
Fresh fish, shrimp, lobster, ribs, burgers and more regional dishes of chicken mole and carne asada can be found on menus.
