Overview Of The Port Of Cabo Frio

About Cabo Frio
Cabo Frio (Cold Cape) is a Brazilian municipality in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, South America.

Cabo Frio is at the end of the long sweeping beach that extends northward from Arraial do Cabo. Near the bridge is the town's focal point - a hill with a small white chapel. The town centre is east of here.

The most famous beach here is Forte Beach. The waters are perfect for swimming, surfing and diving. Forte São Mateus is also located here and was built between 1616 and 1620 to protect the lucrative brazilwood trade.

Other attractions include Feliciano Sodré bridge, the Nossa Senhora da Guia chapel, the church of São Benedito, the Nossa Senhora da Assunção church and the Municipal Theatre.

Fish is a theme in Cabo Frio, there are many fish markets to browse and many of the curio shops sell handcrafted maritime artefacts and souvenirs.

Fish and seafood also feature heavily in restaurants.
