About Bodo
Bodø is a town and a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Salten and it is the capital of Nordland county. It is located just north of the Arctic Circle.
Places of interest include the Norwegian Aviation Museum (Norsk Luftfartsmuseum), Nordlandsbadet Swimming Pool and Indoor Water Park, Nordland Museum and Bodin church.

Kjerringøy Old Trading Centre (40km north of Bodø), is a museum which gives a unique picture of the coastal communities in Northern Norway in the 19th century (open end May-end Aug). There are 15 authentic buildings and interiors, multimedia show, café and museum shop.
There are lots of interesting hiking in the area. About 10km north of Bodø lies Geitvågen, where you may be able to spot white-tailed eagles. Sjunkhatten National Park is also an option and is partly located in Bodø municipality.
Saltstraumen is a small strait with the strongest tidal current in the world. It is located about 10km southeast of Bodø. Vortices known as whirlpools or maelstroms up to 10m in diameter and 5m in depth are formed when the current is at its strongest.
The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon occurring in summer months at various places north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle. If the weather is clear, you have a good chance of seeing it.
