About Baltiysk
Baltiysk is a seaport town of Baltiysky District of Kaliningrad Oblast, located on the northern part of the Vistula Spit. Baltiysk is the westernmost town of Russia.

Notable buildings in the area include the pentagonal Pillau Citadel, which dates back to 1626 and currently houses a naval museum, the ruins of the 13th century Lochstadt Castle, various 19th century naval fortifications, St George Naval Cathedral, the Expressionist Observation Tower and the lighthouse, which dates back to around 1816.
The Curonian Spit is a 98km long, thin, curved sand dune spit that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea coast. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is shared between Russian and Lithuania.
Svetlogorsk is a spa town situated in the historical region of Sambia. It is a popular summer resort town due to it's beachfront, many spas, clubs and attractions.
Traditional dishes include beef stroganov, 'coulibiac' (filled fish and rice pie) and 'kalduny' (stuffed dumplings). Blini (thin pancakes) and caviar (salted roe) are also well known Russian foods.
