About Baltimore
Baltimore is the largest city in the state of Maryland, in the United States of America.

There are many attractions and sights to see in and around the Inner Harbour area. The Harbourplace & the Gallery is a waterfront complex connected by a public plaza. There are more than 100 stores and restaurants here.

The National Aquarium features dolphin shows, a large ray exhibit, a multi-storey shark tank and a jellyfish exhibit.

Port Discovery is a hands-on children's museum for ages 2 to 10.

Power Plant Live! is a vibrant entertainment and dining compound which includes the Baltimore Comedy Factory; PBR Baltimore, a country-western bar; and Luckie's Liquors, a club with live music and the city's largest canned beer selection.

Other places of interest include Maryland Science Centre and the American Visionary Art Museum.

The waterfront neighbourhood of Fell's Point oozes character and features pubs, indie boutiques and restored 18th and 19th century row houses.

Mount Vernon, less than a mile north of the Inner Harbour, is home to the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall; the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, a music conservatory; and the Walters Art Museum. Museum highlights include Egyptian sarcophagi, Faberge eggs, Monet paintings and works by Raphael and El Greco.

Federal Hill is another historic neighbourhood of refurbished row houses, bars and restaurants.

The nation's capital, Washington D.C., is about an hour away by car or train. Attractions include Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, the new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the Smithsonian Institution museums and zoo.

Souvenirs bearing an Orioles logo or a crab in the shape of a mug, T-shirts or magnet are popular.

Local dishes include codfish cakes, crab cakes, crab soup and spiced shrimp.
Cruise Terminal
Ships dock at South Locust Point Terminal, about 3 miles south of the city. It's a 10 minute drive to the Inner Harbour.

There are toilets, vending machines, an ATM and telephones at the terminal.
