Overview Of The Port Of Alghero

About Alghero
Alghero is situated in the north west of Sardinia, the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea.

It is a pretty town with a walled port. The centre has cobbled streets packed with boutiques, bars and restaurants and many churches and interesting architecture to view.

Souvenirs include pocket knives with carved wild sheep or goat horn handles, baskets, pottery and jewellery.

There is a long, white sandy family friendly beach in Alghero called Maria Pia beach.

A visit to Neptune's Caves are a popular excursion, which leaves from the waterfront next to the old town walls.

You can also walk, ride a small train or take a horse and cart round the interior of the old part of the town, taking in the many shops, restaurants and ice cream parlours.

Local dishes include roast piglet, braised wild boar and spaghetti with lobster. Torrone is a nougat candy made with local honey and nuts.
Cruise Terminal
