Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is a town in the Whitsunday region of Queensland, Australia. As it is one of the many departure points for the Great Barrier Reef, there are many tours available.

There is a small beach and medium sized man made lagoon for visitors to swim safely in (the waters here are full of jellyfish).

The main street is where the majority of shops, bars and restaurants can be found. Shops range from speciality and gift shops, to designer boutiques and weekly markets.

Local restaurants serve a wide range of options including fresh fish and seafood, pizzas, steaks, tapas and fast food options.

Cruise ships anchor and tender passengers ashore.

There is a tourist information around 10 minutes away from the tender drop off.
